Cooking homemade french fries in beef fat

Hello again, thanks to a comment posted on my blog I think I have found a very important thing for cooking french fries......cooking french fries in beef fat. This stuff makes french fries taste so much better. Actually now that I think about it, anything that goes in the grease cooker now that the beef fat is in there tastes so much better.

I know it sounds strange at first, but do you remember a couple years back when Mcdonalds french fries tasted really good? Yea, me too. The reason their french fries changed was they stopped cooking their french fries in beef fat. So now you know that beef fat makes that big of a difference.

Ok, so thats one more piece in the puzzle of the ultimate homemade french fries, now I need to scavenge the Internet for more homemade french fries cooking secrets.

OK, Yesterday I tried the double fry method which went great!

The french fries that were double cooked had a more crisp outside, and a softer inside then the single cooked method.
When it comes to making the ultimate homemade french fries this is definitely the way to go.

I also compared bigger cut french fries to the smaller cut and I definitely prefer the smaller cut.
The bigger cut french fries can get a little mushy, while the smaller cut stay a little more crisp and cook much faster.

Tonight I'm going to try cooking my french fries in beef fat like the last comment suggested. I'll keep posting on my adventure to create the ultimate homemade french fries.

Thanks

Hey, thanks for the comment. I'm going to try the double fry method tonight, and I'll check out those links. I don't have any beef fat on me right now, but I'll try to pick some up next time I find some.

Thanks again for the comment, and if anybody out there has some way to cook french fries that you would like to share I would appreciate you commenting here.

My first batch of homemade french fries.

Ok, I have tried the first batch of Homemade french fries, and those fries were great.

For the first batch of homemade french fries the potatoes were pealed, cut into french fries, and thrown into the grease cooker. As soon as they came out they were ambushed with a legion of salt poured on them.

I used Idaho potatoes in this batch of homemade french fries and half the batch was seasoned and the other half was not. I preferred them without the seasoning by the way.

I'm still looking for great homemade french fry cooking ideas, so if you have any don't hesitate to post them here.
